Michael Jackson - 'Captain Eo'!

It's seven months since Michael Jackson known as the "King of Pop" died.
At the time I recalled seeing several times the Disney production 'Captain Eo' @ Disneyland Paris.
I've now found it on YouTube

The full version of this 1986 short film, including the song 'We Here To Change The World'.
The movie tells the story of Captain EO and the ragtag crew of his spaceship on a mission to deliver a gift to a wicked alien queen, the Supreme Leader, on her home world of rotting, twisted metal ...

Sound of Music - My Favourite Things!

Maggie & Mitch & their Mom, friend Sue reminded me today of 'The Sound of Music' - a favourite film we share.
I envy them their CD, as not one in my collection.
As one of my previous Blogs meme was 'My Favourite Things', based on the films song, sung by Julie Andrews, I am particularly taken with this video version - hope they like it too as posted for them...

The Snowman!

After building my own snowman yesterday, I was reminded of the timeless 1982 animated Christmas classic from Raymond Briggs, about a little boy who builds a snowman, that takes him on an adventure one snowy night...

And, while researching You Tube for the above, I also came a cross this curio, taken from a morning TV programme - Aled Jones, as a young chorister had great success with the the Snowman's theme tune 'Walking in the Air' and unlike many young choir boys fortunately retained his clear voice when it broke as a teenager [I'll also add he kept his youthful good looks & his faith too]...

Breakfast @ Tiffany's!

Hearing a few cords of the wistful song 'Moon River' on the radio, sent me in search of a favourite film, 'Breakfast @ Tiffinys' [1961] staring Audrey Hepburn @ her most delightful as Holly Golightly.

Struggling writer Paul Varjak [George Peppard] moves into a New York apartment building on Manhattan's swank East Side and becomes intrigued by his pretty, quirky neighbor Holly Golightly.

Holly's lifestyle confuses and fascinates him. In public she flits through parties with a sexy, sophisticated air, but when they're alone she changes into a sweetly vulnerable girl. Totally madcap, she has a partially furnished apartment, owns a cat with no name, gets rid of the "mean reds" by visiting Tiffany's jewellery store...A light-hearted comedy & romantic drama in one, it's never lost its charm to me.
